Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (Japanese: BORUTO-ボルト- -NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS- Hepburn: Boruto: Naruto Nekusuto Jenerēshonzu), also known as Boruto, is a Japanese shonen manga series written by Ukyō Kodachi and illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto.

The manga was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine before being transferred to another Shueisha magazine titled V Jump in 2019. This manga is also a spin-off story and a sequel to Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto manga, which chronicles the life of Naruto Uzumaki's son, Boruto. Uzumaki, and his friends. The emergence of Boruto originated from Shueisha's proposal to Kishimoto to make a Naruto sequel story.

However, Kishimoto turned down this offer and asked his former assistant, Mikio Ikemoto to draw it; and the writer of the film Boruto—Ukyō Kodachi, who wrote the story. Although Kodachi and Ikemoto are working together on the manga version, Kodachi is also overseeing the anime adaptation of Boruto along with Kishimoto.

An anime adaptation directed by Noriyuki Abe began airing on TV Tokyo on April 5, 2017. Unlike the manga—which retells the events of the Boruto film, the anime adaptation of Boruto acts as a prequel story set before Boruto and his friends become ninja. in the next arc. A series of light novels for the manga has also been written. Critics' response to Boruto has generally been positive. Critics generally liked the nature of the main characters—especially Boruto who was similar to his father, Naruto, but he was spoiled from childhood and thus faced different problems from Naruto—who during his childhood was known as an outcast and orphan.

The plot is also credited with developing Naruto's original screenplay by showing the new generation of ninja and their relationships with their parents and teachers. Pierrot's prequel anime adaptation also received praise for their use of new and old characters. As of January 2017, Shueisha has sold approximately one million copies of the manga.
